Lots and Lots of Vintage and Antique Clothing!! Come See!

I was amazed when I worked last to notice how many different dealers have vintage and antique clothing items.  We often get lovely teens looking for prom dresses, theater and movie people seeking wardrobe, or those who are doing displays for museums or school looking for the perfect item of vintage or antique clothing. My favorite though, is customers who dress in vintage era clothing because they like them (and look great in them!!).  Most of these are women and like periods from the 1930's through the 1950's.  I consider it to be one of the perks of working at Treasures!! This week I have one customer come into the store each of the two days I worked!! So here are kuddos to these artful Ingénues.

I thought it might be fun to see a collection of photos of various vintage clothing items offered by eight different dealers!
First of all, we see this double head pink stole.  It is shown on the mannequin of another dealer, for display purposes.  The mannequin wears a vintage slip and fun jewelry.

As you can see  we have antique and vintage children's clothing from the mid 1800's to the mid 1900's.  Now here's a fun fact.  Did you know that even though hard goods like furniture and dishes are technically considered antique at 100  years, but that soft goods like paper and fabric are considered antique at 50 years. (as defined by US customs services.)

And now for my Ingénues!  Some wonderful bits from the 40's and 50's.  This charming beaded sweater above may have been worn with a circle skirt in the 1950's, though I doubt it had a poodle on it.

Here we see a great suit, which may have been an airline stewardess uniform.  Of course the 40's and 50's was the era of the 'hat', and we have a large selection of hats.

Here is a typical  40's of 50's waisted cotton dress.  Add pearls and and high heels and you can envision  June Cleaver vacuuming her living room!

Or if you want something for a special occasion, you can choose between the pink striped Gunne Sax dress, or a wonderful sequined dress that will make you feel like a mermaid.

Perhaps a lovely flapper dress to wear with your cloche hat would be more in order, or perhaps a lovely late 1800's white linen dress is more your style?

Whatever you seek, give us a try, you will be surprised how many vintage and antique clothing items and accessories that we have available.

This lovely silk 1920's bed jacket is one of my favorites.  I can only imagine how elegant one would feel wearing it.

Of course fancy and foo foo may not be your style, so I am including a couple more pictures, hoping to accommodate everyone!! Come and see our selection!
