Treasuring Pyrex.

Today at Treasures, I redid the large front display area in a 50's kitchen and Pyrex style!
Gathering the Pyrex was lots of fun!!
I also added fun 50s linens and colorful tinware.

We even have this great set of Pyrex dishes.

This cute lady was buying the largest of the primary bowls, to complete her second set. She said she accidentally set her largest bowl, full of bread dough to proof on what she thought was a turned off burner!  Oops. She's used her Pyrex sets of bowls for her whole adult life!!

Joanne's Charming Valentine's Cottage Decor

Just thought I'd share a wonderful cottage, owned by our good customer Joanne.

Joanne just redid her cottage this week, and was kind enough to share!

I love these decorated cones, they are so reminiscent of Victorian Tussy Mussys which I have always loved!

The sweet gown to the left is Joanne's own blessing dress ... I asked if her daughter had worn it, and she sent me a picture of the lovely gown they had worn, across the bottom of the bed, its the last picture in this post.
So very charming.

... and here is the bed in an alternate, brighter covering.   How sweet is the heart banner?

After seeing her original picture of the gown, she decided she needed a spot of color ... and made this banner ....

And here is the promised blessing gown that her daughters wore as babes ... such a charming cottage, thanks for sharing with us Joanne ... you inspire me.

Treasures Dealer in Romantic Country Magazine

We have a couple of sisters at the antique mall who do amazing things with their booths!!
It was pretty cool recently to find out that one of them was featured in a national magazine.
In fact this cute beadboard cupboard was the star of the show.
This is the opened current Romantic Country Magazine's Flea Market issue!
Here is a close up of the same cupboard shown above, when Annette is set up at the Amazing Vintage Whites sale held last February in nearby Salt Lake!

Annette changes out her booth here at the mall according to the holiday!
Such cute and colorful chairs.
Here are some more shots of her cute Christmas booth! Isn't the door above just amazing?

Antique Desk and Inkwell!

Today we sold this awesome early 1900's school desk.  We sell these all the time, they are a perennial favorite.  We sell them to museums, who are setting us school rooms, we sell them to parents for their kids to use to study, we sell them to TV and movie studios for sets.  We once even helped outfit a lady who was putting together a working school room.

The one thing, though, that we have not sold is one with the inkwell in it.

I was astonished by this awesome inkwell and its pivoting cover.
I also thought it was interesting that it had the word Bakelite on it.  We see lots of bakelite at Treasures Antiques, lots of utilitarian items, like kitchen utensils, and furniture handles, and of course, everyone's favorite bakelite jewelry.  I have just never seen the word on the product before.

The buyer was very excited ... he's been look for a complete desk for a long time!

We also had this gentleman come into the store today.  As you see he is wearing a fedora, carrying a cane, and has a watch chain hanging on his vest.  He said that he hopes to help bring back elegance to menswear.  I told him he had come to the right place to be appreciated ...  We love it when customers come in dressed in period clothing!

Jennifer of 3 Dotters Gives Treasures Antiques a Nod!

Hey Treasures Fans, did you see the Studio 5 feature a couple of weeks ago with Jennifer Reed of 3 Dotters Vintage?

Jenn is a former Treasures dealer, a very busy girl who realized she didn't have time to keep her booth at Treasures stocked, and has moved on to doing three vintage sales a year at the Pleasant Grove Rec Center.

Jennifer shared her vintage shopping secrets with Studio 5 viewers, and featured Treasures in Springville first ...

These are some of the pictures that she shared on the show, featuring us as one of the 'Best Vintage Shops'
Jennifer should know, she is one of our best customers ... she collects vintage world globes, and the black one she show cased on segment is one she had bought, while I was working, at Treasures the week prior to taping the show!!

I was working the day the segment aired, and we had a customer from Salt Lake call us about the Indian statue to the right, before the show was even over.  Yep, the statue is now history as far as the mall is concerned.

Jenn hosted her 3 dotters sale last weekend in Pleasant Grove, and I got talking with one of the dealers there, a 20 something who is a big Pyrex collector.  She told me that Julie, our Pyrex dealer who has children who are 30 something, is her hero!  Yep Julie's been collecting Pyrex for 15 years .... I guess that sort of makes her a hipster!!

Thanks for the endorsement Jenn, we are glad to hear that your first 3 Dotters sale went so well!!
